I am a couple of weeks into what I call an “ongoing practice of daily acceptance”; that is, to live each day in a state of accepting what I cannot change. Accepting life as it is.
When we fully experience a happening without any attempts on our behalf to guard ourselves or control the flow, all that is left is the thought or the feeling(s) about the experience.
That which we’re grappling with grasping.
Instead of wrestling with reality, however, we have the option to rest in a state of surrender.
In this state we see things we haven’t quite seen before. We notice new things about ourselves, and the environment around us. We slow down.
Embracing the power that comes with focusing on what's within our control yields significant rewards, freeing up our attention and energy for meaningful pursuits.
